Romantic Oval Doily Placemat Crochet Pattern




Hello Everyone! πŸ™‚
Today I have the Romantic Oval Doily Placemat crochet pattern to share with you. It is made in only 13 rounds using mercerised cotton yarn and a 3 mm crochet hook. 
All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 
37 cm x 29 cm (14.6 inches x 11.4 inches).

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Alize Bahar mercerised 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 38 (coral). 55 grams (143 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches

ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

ch3picot - ch3, insert your hook into first ch made (into 3rd ch from hook), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.




Instructions:

Foundation: ch22

Round 1: 5dc into the 4th ch from hook,



1dc into next 17 ch sts,



6dc into last ch st., 



1dc into next 17 ch sts on the other side of the foundation chain.



Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round. (46 sts)


Round 2: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 2dc into same st., 2dc into next 5 sts,
1dc into next 17 sts,
2dc into next 6 sts,
1dc into next 17 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (58 sts)


Round 3: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next st., 
(1dc into next st., 2dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times,
1dc into next 17 sts,
(1dc into next st., 2dc into next st.)* repeat 6 times,
1dc into next 17 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (70 sts)

Round 4: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next st., 2dc into next st.,
(1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times,
1dc into next 17 sts,
(1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 6 times,
1dc into next 17 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (82 sts)

Round 5: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st.,
(1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times,
1dc into next 17 sts,
(1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 6 times,
1dc into next 17 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (94 sts)

Round 6: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st.,
(1dc into next 4 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times,
1dc into next 17 sts,
(1dc into next 4 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 6 times,
1dc into next 17 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (106 sts)

Round 7: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 4 sts, 2dc into next st.,
(1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 10 times,
1dc into next 22 sts, 2dc into next st., 
(1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 10 times,
1dc into next 17 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (128 sts)

Round 8: ch5 (counts as 1dc + ch2), 
(skip next st., 1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 63 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch5.

Round 9: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next ch2 space,
(1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 2 times,
(1dc into next st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 20 times,
(1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 12 times,
(1dc into next st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 20 times,
(1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 9 times.
Join with a sl st. into first dc. (168 sts)

Round 10: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), 
(skip next st., 1dc into next st., ch1)* repeat 83 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

Round 11: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), 1dc into same ch1 space,
((1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space)* repeat 83 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.


Round 12: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch5 (counts as 1trc + ch1), (1trc, ch1)* repeat 5 times into same ch1 space, skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch1,
(skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, (1trc, ch1)* repeat 6 times into next ch1 space, skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 20 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 4th ch of beginning ch5.

Round 13: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), ch3picot, ch1, (skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st., ch1, ch3picot, ch1)* repeat 4 times, skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st.,
(skip next ch1, skip next sc st., skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st., (ch1, ch3picot, ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st.)* repeat 5 times)* repeat 20 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

Basic Winter Mittens - Free Crochet Pattern

This time I would like to share with you my Basic Winter Mittens crochet pattern.
The best part about these mittens is that they work up fairly quickly and will keep you warm during the colder months.

Written Pattern:

Materials:

  • Worsted / DK weight yarn, size 4 /3 - medium. I used Audine Wools Bloom DK weight yarn (80% alpaca wool, 10% silk, 10% camel. 211m/100g) in the colorway Forget Me Not. 70 grams (148 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 4,5 mm ( US size 7) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Latch hook (optional)



Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.

Size: The pattern is written in one size which will fit an average adult woman.
Width: 10 cm (4 inches)
Length including the cuff: 24 cm (9.5 inches)
Thumb length: 7 cm (2.8 inches)

Gauge: 7 stitches x 5.5 rows = 5cm (2 inches) in half double crochet


Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
sl st. – slip stitch
ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
hdc2tog – 2 half double crochet closed together
dc – double crochet
fpdc - front post double crochet
bpdc - back post double crochet

Pattern Notes:

  • Mittens are crocheted in the round.
  • They are worked from the top down.
  • Both mittens (right and left) are worked exactly the same.
  • Ch1 and ch2 at the beginning of rounds do not count as stitches.




Instructions:

The Mitten (make 2):

Start with ch4, sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch1, 7hdc into ring. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (7 sts)

Round 2: ch1, 2hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (14 sts)

Round 3: ch1, 1hdc into same st., 2hdc into next st. 
(1hdc into next st., 2hdc into next st.)* repeat 6 times around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (21 sts)

Round 4: ch1, 1hdc into same st., 1hdc into next st., 2hdc into next st.,
(1hdc into next 2 sts, 2hdc into next st.)* repeat 6 times around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (28 sts)

Round 5 - 14: ch1, 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. 
(28 sts)


Round 15 (Creating the thumb hole): ch1, 1hdc into each st. (25 sts) until you have 3 sts left, ch5. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. 

Round 16: ch1, 1hdc into each st. and into each ch st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (30 sts)

Round 17: ch1, 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. 
(30 sts)

Round 18: ch1, skip first st., 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (29 sts)

Round 19: ch1, skip first st., 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (28 sts)

Round 20: ch1, skip first st., 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (27 sts)

Round 21: ch1, skip first st., 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (26 sts)

Round 22: ch2, 1dc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first dc. (26 sts)

Round 23 - 26 (The cuff): ch2, 1fpdc into first st., 1bpdc into next st., 
(1fpdc into next st., 1bpdc into next st.)* repeat 12 times around. Join with a sl st. into first fpdc. (26 sts)


The thumb:

Join the yarn to any st. of the thumb hole opening.

Round 1: ch1, 13hdc evenly around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (13 sts)
Some of the stitches may not be into a stitch, they may be worked into stitch posts.

Round 2 - 5: ch1, 1hdc into each st. around. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. 
(13 sts)

Round 6: ch1, 1hdc into same st., hdc2tog over next 2 sts, 
(1hdc into next st., hdc2tog over next 2 sts)* repeat 3 times around, 1hdc into last st. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (9 sts)

Round 7: ch1, skip first st., 1hdc into next st., (hdc2tog over next 2 sts)* repeat 3 times, 1hdc into last st. Join with a sl st. into first hdc. (5 sts)

Finish off leaving a long tale. Close the top of the thumb by weaving the yarn tail through each stitch around the top using a yarn needle. Pull it to close the hole, fasten off and weave it inside the thumb.

Weave in all ends using a yarn needle or latch hook.

Easy Crochet Granny Square Motif



Hi Everyone! 😊
Today i am sharing an easy Granny Square Motif crochet pattern with you. The squares are worked in the round with top side always facing throughout. These can be used individually as coasters or joined together to create tablecloths, blankets, tops, etc.

Size: The square motif measures approx. 14 cm x 14 cm (5,5 inches x 5,5 inches)

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

  • DK weight yarn, size 3 - light. I used Nako Calico 50% cotton, 50% acrylic yarn. 13 grams (32 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3,5 mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch/stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
