Blooming Ivy Oval Doily - Simple Crochet Pattern

Today i'm here to share my Blooming Ivy Oval Doily chrochet pattern. This would be an elegant centerpiece, a lovely accent for your home. All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 37 x 28 cm (14.6 x 11 inches).



Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:
  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 5329 (light green). 50 grams (125 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.0mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
dc2(3)tog - 2 or 3 double crochet closed together

ch3picot - ch3, insert your hook into first ch made (into 3rd ch from hook), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

Instructions:

Foundation: ch20


Round 1: 4dc into the 4th ch from hook,
 
1dc into next 15 ch sts,
 
5dc into last ch st., 

1dc into next 15 ch sts on the other side of the foundation chain. 
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.



Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that ch3 (into same st.), 2dc into next st., 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 2 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts, 
2dc into each of next 2 sts, 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 2 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into each of next 3 sts, 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 4 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts, 
2dc into each of next 4 sts, 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 4 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into each of next 7 sts, 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 8 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts, 
2dc into each of next 8 sts, 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 8 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 5: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1,

(skip 1 st., 1dc into next st., ch1)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.

Round 6: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into next ch1 space,
(1dc into next dc st., 1dc into next ch1 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 7: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch2,
(skip 1 st., 1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.

Round 8: ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into next ch2 space, 
(1dc into next dc st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 9: ch1, 1sc into the base of that ch1 (into same st.), 
(ch4, skip 2 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch1 + 1dc into first sc.

Round 10: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, 1dc into that (ch1 + 1dc) space of the previous round,
((1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch4 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.



Round 11: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, 1dc into that same ch1 space, ch1,
((1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.

Round 12: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch1, 1sc into that same ch1 space, ch1, skip next ch1, (1trc, ch2)* repeat 3 times into next ch1 space, 1trc into that same ch1 space,
(ch1, skip next ch1, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch1, skip next ch1, (1trc, ch2)* repeat 3 times into next ch1 space, 1trc into that same ch1 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Ch1, join with a sl st. into first sc.



Round 13: sl st. into next ch1 space, sl st. into next trc st., sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), dc2tog into that same ch2 space, ch2, ch3picot, ch2, dc3tog into next ch2 space, ch2, ch3picot, ch2, dc3tog into next ch2 space,
(dc3tog into next ch2 space, ch2, ch3picot, ch2, dc3tog into next ch2 space, ch2, ch3picot, ch2, dc3tog into next ch2 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the first dc2tog.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
