12 Petal Flower Square Motif - Free Crochet Pattern

Hi Everyone! 😊
This time I am sharing the 12 Petal Flower Square crochet pattern with you.
It's worked up in 7 rounds using DK weight yarn and a 3,5 mm crochet hook. The square motifs are all joined along the way using the ''join as you go'' method. You can use them for pillow covers, afghans, tablecloths, tops dresses or any other projects of your choice.
If you prefer to learn by watching, I have a video tutorial below. Or scroll down to view the written pattern!

Happy Crocheting! 😊

Written Pattern:

Size: The square motif measures approx. 14 cm x 14 cm (5,5 inches x 5,5 inches)

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:
  • DK weight yarn, size 3 - light. I used Nako Calico 50% cotton, 50% acrylic yarn. 12 grams (30 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3,5 mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch/stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
dc2(3)tog - 2 or 3 double crochet closed together

dc2(3)tog – 2(3) double crochet closed together - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 2(3) times. Now you have 3(4) loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3(4) loops.
