Crochet Two Color Tote Market Bag Pattern

    Hi everyone!πŸ™‚

Today I'm sharing the Two Color Tote Market Bag crochet pattern with you. It's very easy and fun to make - worked in joined rounds using basic stitches - chain, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet.
It's worked from the bottom up.The handle straps are crocheted directly onto the body so the bag is one piece with no extra seaming.
I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton Aran / Worsted weight cord type yarn in two colors. Any aran / worsted weight cotton or cotton blend yarn will work.

You will find the written pattern and a video tutorial below.

    Happy Crocheting! 😊

    Video Tutorial:

    Written Pattern:

Finished Size: Height without handles: 34 cm (13,4''), Width: 35 cm (13,8''), Depth: 6 cm (2,4'').

Skill Level: Easy - advanced beginner

    Materials Used:

    • Worsted - Aran weight cord type yarn, size 4 - medium. I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton - (250 grams / 225 meters) - 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester. You will need approx 220 metres of Color A (beige) yarn and 141 metres of Color B (pink) yarn.
    • 4,5 mm (7) crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends.
    • 4 stitch markers.
    • Measuring tape.

    Abbreviations (US terms):

    st./sts - stitch / stitches
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    dc - double crochet

( )* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

    Pattern Notes:
    • I didn't cut the yarn after each color change, I kept it attached in order to minimize the yarn tails to weave in. If you decide to cut the yarn everytime you change colors, leave a tail and weave in all ends once you're done.
    • The bag is worked from the bottom up, in joined rounds.
    • You can adjust the width of the bag by adding or subtracting chain stitches of the foundation chain in a multiple of 4.
    • You can adjust the height of the bag by adding or subtracting pattern repeats (Round 5 - 8).
    • You can adjust the length of handles by increasing or decreasing the chains in Round 29.
