Decorative Doily Coaster - Free Crochet Pattern

I've got an easy Decorative Doily Coaster crochet pattern for you today. If you like decorative elements for your home, you might want to learn how to whip up this easy coaster in no time. It's suitable for beginners who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches.

Written Pattern:


Size: The coaster measures approx. 15 cm (5.9 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 5326 (grey). 12 grams (30 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern. 
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook. 

Abbreviations (US terms):


st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet

hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.



Instructions:

Start with ch6 and join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring. 

Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3. 

Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into each dc st. around. Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch3, 
(skip next st., 1dc into next st., ch3)* repeat 15 times around. 
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch.

Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 3dc into next ch3 space, 
(1dc into next dc st., 3dc into next ch3 space)* repeat 15 times around. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.


Round 5: ch1, 1sc into same st., ch5, 
(skip next 3 sts, 1sc into next st., ch5)* repeat 15 times around. 
Join with a sl st. into first sc. 

Round 6: ch1, 1sc into same st., (1hdc, 2dc, 1trc, 2dc, 1hdc) into next ch5 space, 
(1sc into next sc st., (1hdc, 2dc, 1trc, 2dc, 1hdc) into next ch5 space)* repeat 15 times around. 
Join with a sl st. into first sc. 

Round 7: ch1, 1sc into same st., ch4, skip next 3 sts, sl st. into next st., ch4, sl st. into same  st., ch4, 
(skip next 3 sts, 1sc into next st., ch4, skip next 3 sts, sl st. into next st., ch4, sl st. into same st., ch4)* repeat 15 times around. 
Join with a sl st. into first sc. 

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 37 x 28 cm (14.6 x 11 inches).



Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:
  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 5329 (light green). 50 grams (125 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.0mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
dc2(3)tog - 2 or 3 double crochet closed together

ch3picot - ch3, insert your hook into first ch made (into 3rd ch from hook), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

Instructions:

Foundation: ch20


Round 1: 4dc into the 4th ch from hook,
 
1dc into next 15 ch sts,
 
5dc into last ch st., 

1dc into next 15 ch sts on the other side of the foundation chain. 
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.



Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that ch3 (into same st.), 2dc into next st., 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 2 sts,

1dc into next 15 sts. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

1dc into next 15 sts, 
2dc into each of next 4 sts, 1dc into next st., 2dc into each of next 4 sts, 
1dc into next 15 sts. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Coral Dreams Doily Crochet Pattern



Hi Everyone! πŸ™‚

Today i have the Coral Dreams Doily crochet pattern to share with you. It is made in only 12 rounds using mercerised cotton yarn. This doily pattern will work well for those who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches.
This pattern can be also turned into a rug by using a thick yarn and a large crochet hook.

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used ONline linie 163 Bingo mercerised 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 108 (coral). 30 grams (75 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.0mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
