Simple & Easy Doily - Free Crochet Pattern

Today I have a Simple & Easy Doily crochet pattern to share with you. This pattern will work well for those who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches. It is made in only 13 rounds using sport weight mercerised 100% cotton yarn and a 3 mm crochet hookYou can use any type of yarn or thread.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 32 cm (12.6 inches) in diameter.
Skill Level: Easy

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla mercerised 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 5055 (green). 42 grams (105 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.0 mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet

ch3picot -  ch3, insert the hook into first ch (into 3rd ch from the hook), yarn over, pull the yarn through all loops on hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.




Instructions:

Start with ch6, sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 16sc into ring. Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Round 2: ch5 (counts as 1dc + ch2),
(1dc into next sc st., ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch5.


Round 3: sl st. into next ch2 space, ch5 (counts as 1dc + ch2), 1dc into same ch2 space,
(skip next dc st., (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next ch2 space)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch5.

Round 4: sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (1dc, ch2, 2dc) into same ch2 space,
(skip next 2 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next ch2 space)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 5: sl st. into next dc st., sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (1dc, ch2, 2dc) into same ch2 space,
(skip next 4 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next ch2 space)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 6: sl st. into next dc st., sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (1dc, ch2, 2dc) into same ch2 space, ch1,
(skip next 4 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next ch2 space, ch1)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 7: sl st. into next dc st., sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (1dc, ch3, 2dc) into same ch2 space, ch2,

Round 10: sl st. into next 2 dc sts, sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (2dc, ch3, 3dc) into same ch3 space, ch5,
(skip next 3 dc sts, skip next ch4, skip next 3 dc sts, (3dc, ch3, 3dc) into next ch3 space, ch5)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 11:  sl st. into next 2 dc sts, sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (2dc, ch3, 3dc) into same ch3 space, ch7,
(skip next 3 dc sts, skip next ch5, skip next 3 dc sts, (3dc, ch3, 3dc) into next ch3 space, ch7)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.


Round 12: sl st. into next 2 dc sts, sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (2dc, ch3, 3dc) into same ch3 space, ch3, skip next 3 dc sts, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into 4th ch st. of next ch7, ch3,
(skip next 3 ch sts, skip next 3 dc sts, (3dc, ch3, 3dc) into next ch3 space, ch3, skip next 3 dc sts, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into 4th ch st. of next ch7, ch3)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 13: sl st. into next dc st., ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into next dc st., (3dc, ch3, 3dc) into next ch3 space, 1dc into next 2 dc sts, ch3, skip next dc st., skip next ch3, skip next dc st., (1sc, ch3picot, 1sc) into next ch1 space, ch3,

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
