Rainforest Shawl - One Skein Triangle Shawl Crochet Pattern

Today I would like to share the Rainforest Shawl crochet pattern with you. This elegant lightweight triangle shawl is worked from the top down, in back and forth rows. To make this shawl, you should be familiar with basic crochet stitches and terminology. All you need to start is one skein of your favourite fingering weight yarn (I used one skein of YarnArt Flowers gradient ''cake'' yarn) and a 4 mm crochet hook.

Written Pattern

Finished Size: Height - 80 cm (31,5''), Width - 160 cm (63'').
You can adjust the size of the shawl by adding or subtracting pattern repeats -
(Row 5 and Rows 28 - 31).


Gauge: 9 stitches x 5 rows = 5cm x 5cm (2’’ x 2’’) in double crochet.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials Used:

  • Fingering weight yarn, size 1 - super fineI used YarnArt Flowers (250g/ 1000m) 55% cotton, 45% acrylic yarn in color 272.          1 skein of yarn needed for this pattern. (approx. 240g / 960m)
  • 4.0 mm (US size G/6) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or a latch hook.




  • Abbreviations (US terms):

    st. / sts - stitch / stitches
    ch - chain
    sc - single crochet

    dc - double crochet

    ()* – repeat the instructions between the brackets as directed.





    Instructions

    Start with ch4, sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

    Row 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 2dc into ring, ch2, 3dc into ring.

    Row 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn, 2dc into first st., ch1, skip next 2 sts, (3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch1) into next ch2 space, skip next 2 sts, 3dc into last st. (3rd ch of turning ch3).

    Row 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn, 2dc into first st., ch1, skip next 2 sts, 3dc into next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, (3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch1) into center ch2 space, skip next 3 sts, 3dc into next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 2 sts, 3dc into 3rd ch of turning ch3.


    Row 4: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn, 2dc into first st., ch1, skip next 2 sts, 3dc into next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts, 3dc into next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 sts 
    (3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch1) into center ch2 space, 
    (skip next 3 sts, 3dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 2 times,

    Arcade Market / Beach Tote Bag Crochet Pattern

    Today I'm sharing my Arcade Market / Beach Tote Bag crochet pattern with you. It's perfect for market trips, beach trips, day trips, etc. 
    This pattern is written for those with basic crochet knowledge.To make this tote bag, you should be familiar with basic crochet stitches and terminology. You should know how to crochet in the round as well as how to work in back and forth rows. 
    I used Worsted / Aran weight (#4) cord type yarn and a 5 mm (H) crochet hook.

    Written Pattern:

    Finished Size: Height with handle strap: 57cm (22,4''); Height without handle strap: 30cm (11,8''); Width: 34cm (13,4''); Depth: 24cm (9,5'').

    Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

    Materials Used:
    • Worsted - Aran weight cord type yarn, size 4 - medium. I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton - (250 grams / 225 meters) - 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester in color 767 (powder pink). 2 skeins (approx 420 grams / 380 meters) needed for this pattern.
    • 5 mm (H) crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle.

    Abbreviations (US terms):

    st./sts - stitch / stitches
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    dc - double crochet
    sc2tog - 2 single crochet together

    Round 8: ch2 (doesn't count as st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 5 sts, 2dc into next st.,

    Join with a sl st. into first dc.   (96 sts)


    Round 9: ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next 2 sts, ch3,
    (skip next 3 sts, 1sc into next 3 sts, ch3)* repeat 15 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sc.

    Round 10: sl st. into next st., ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 7dc into next ch3 space,
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., 7dc into next ch3 space)* repeat 15 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sc.

    Round 11: sl st. into next 3 sts, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next 2 sts, ch3,

    Row 28 (right side): turn, 7dc into next ch3 space, 
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., 7dc into next ch3 space)* repeat 5 times. Skip next st., sl st. into last st.

    Row 29: turn, skip first st., sl st. into next 4 sts, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., ch3,
    (skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 3 sts, ch3)* repeat 4 times. Skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 2 sts. 

    Row 30: turn, 7dc into next ch3 space, 
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., 7dc into next ch3 space)* repeat 4 times. Skip next st., sl st. into last st.

    Row 31: turn, skip first st., sl st. into next 4 sts, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., ch3,
    (skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 3 sts, ch3)* repeat 3 times. Skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 2 sts. 

    Row 32: turn, 7dc into next ch3 space, 
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., 7dc into next ch3 space)* repeat 3 times. Skip next st., sl st. into last st.

    Row 33: turn, skip first st., sl st. into next 4 sts, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., ch3,
    (skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 3 sts, ch3)* repeat 2 times. Skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 2 sts. 

    Row 34: turn, 7dc into next ch3 space, 
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., 7dc into next ch3 space)* repeat 2 times. Skip next st., sl st. into last st.

    Row 35:  turn, skip first st., sl st. into next 4 sts, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., ch3, skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 3 sts, ch3, skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 2 sts.

    Row 36: turn, 7dc into next ch3 space, skip next st., 1sc into next st., 7dc into next ch3 space, skip next st., sl st. into last st.

    Row 37: turn, skip first st., sl st. into next 4 sts, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., ch3, skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 2 sts.

    Row 38: turn, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), skip first st., 1sc into next st., 3sc into next ch3 space, dc2tog over last 2 sts.   (5 sts)

    Row 39 - 59: turn, ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc first st., 1sc into remaining 4 sts.   (5 sts)

    Fasten off, leaving a tail (approx 20 cm long) for sewing the straps.


    Second strap:

    With wrong side facing, skip 15 unworked sts along Round 26, join yarn to 16th st.
    Row 27: ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., ch3,
    (skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 3 sts, ch3)* repeat 5 times. Skip next 5 sts, 1sc into next 2 sts. 

    Repeat Row 28 - 59 in the same manner as for the first strap.

    Fasten off.

    Bring both straps together so they line up evenly. With the wrong side facing, sew the straps together.

    Sew / weave in all ends.

    Tote Net Bag - Free Crochet Pattern

     


    Hello Everyone! πŸ˜‰

    Today I am here to share my Tote Net Bag crochet pattern with you. It's worked from the bottom up, in joined rounds using basic crochet stitches - chain, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochetThe straps are made as separate pieces and attached to the bag after it's completed.
    I used DK weight (size 3 - light) YarnArt Macrame cord type polyester yarn and a 4mm (G) crochet hook.

    • Measuring tape.

    Foundation chain: ch47

    Round 1: 2dc into 4th ch from hook, 1dc into next 42 ch sts, 6dc into last ch st., 1dc into next 42 ch sts on the other side of foundation chain, 3dc into last ch st. Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3. 
    (96 dc sts including ch3 at the beginning of round)


    Round 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next 2 sts, 1dc into next 42 sts, 2dc into next 6 sts, 1dc into next 42 sts, 2dc into remaining 3 sts. 
    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3. 
    (108 dc sts)

    Round 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next 3 sts., 1dc into next 46 sts, 2dc into next 8 sts, 1dc into next 46 sts, 2dc into remaining 4 sts. Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3. 
    (124 dc sts)

    Round 4: ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into each st. around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sc.

    Round 5: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), turn your work
    (skip next st., 1dc into next st., ch1)* repeat 61 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.  
    (62 dc sts, 62 ch1)

    Round 6: ch1 (doesn't count as st.), turn your work, 1sc into same st., 1sc into next ch1 sp.,
    (1sc into next st., 1sc into next ch1 sp.)* repeat 61 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sc.  
    (124 sc sts)

    Round 7 - 36: repeat Round 5 - 6.

    Round 37: ch1 (doesn't count as st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into each st. around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sc.  
    (124 sc sts)

    Round 38: sl st. into each st. around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sl st.  
    (124 sl sts)

    Fasten off and weave / sew in all ends using a yarn needle or a latch hook.


    Bag Strap:

    Make 2!

    Leave approx 20cm long tail for sewing strap to the bag.

    Ch2, 1sc into 2nd ch from hook.



    Turn, 1sc into side loop.




    (turn, 1sc into 2 side loops)* repeat until the strap is approx 75cm long.





    Fasten off, leaving approx 20cm long tail for sewing strap to the bag.


    Attach the straps

    Lay your bag on a flat surface and measure approx 8cm from both sides of the bag, place stitch markers to Round 35.


     
    Insert the strap from inside to outside through marked ch1 space in Round 35.
    Make a knot.



    Sew the strap into place so the knot doesn't slip through the ch space.




    Attach the oposite end of strap in the same manner.


    Fasten off, sew  / weave in the ends.
