Maytime Table Runner - Free Crochet Pattern



Hi Everyone! πŸ™‚
Today I have the Maytime Table Runner crochet pattern to share with you. 
This pattern will work well for those who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches. All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Written Pattern

Size: The table runner measures approx. 31 cm x 95 cm (12.2 in x 37.4 in)
You can adjust the length of the table runner by adding or subtracting rows (repeat Row 7 until you reach the desired length. Make sure you finish with an even numbered row!
You can adjust the width of the table runner by adding or subtracting stitches in a multiple of 12.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fineI used Alize Bahar mercerized 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 368 (camel). 145 grams (364 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.5mm (US size E4) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

  • Abbreviations (US terms):

    st. - stitch
    ch - chain
    sc - single crochet
    hdc - half double crochet
    dc - double crochet

    ()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.


    Instructions

    Beginning (turning) chains count as stitches!

    Start with a loose foundation chain of 60 ch sts. 
    (multiple of 12 stitches = 5 x 12)

    Row 1 (right side): 1hdc into 2nd ch from hook. 1hdc into each ch st. across.
    (59 hdc sts)

    Row 2 (wrong side): ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), turn. Skip first and next hdc st., 1dc into next hdc st., 
    (ch1, skip next hdc st., 1dc into next hdc st.)* repeat 28 times across. 

    Row 3: ch1, turn. 1sc into first dc st. 1sc into each ch1 space, 1sc into each dc st. across. The last sc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch4 of previous row.
    (59 sc sts)


    Row 4: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), turn. Skip first and next sc st., 1dc into next sc st. (ch1, skip next sc st., 1dc into next sc st.)* repeat 28 times across. 

    Row 5: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn. 1dc into each ch1 space, 1dc into each dc st. across. The last dc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch4 of previous row.
    (59 dc sts)

    Row 6: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn. Skip first dc st., 1dc into next 2 dc sts., ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next dc st., ch1,
    (skip next 2 dc sts., 1dc into next 7 dc sts., ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 4 times across. 
    Skip next 2 dc sts, 1dc into next 3 dc sts. The last dc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch3 of previous row.

    Row 7: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn. Skip first dc st., 1dc into next 2 dc sts, ch1, skip next ch1, skip next dc st., (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space, ch1,
    (skip next dc st, skip next ch1,  1dc into next 7 dc sts, ch1, skip next ch1, skip next dc st., (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 4 times across. Skip next dc st, skip next ch1, 1dc into next 3 dc sts. The last dc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch3 of previous row.

    Row 8 - 80: repeat Row 7.



    Row 81: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn. Skip first dc st., 1dc into each dc st., 1dc into each ch1 space across. The last dc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch3 of previous row.

    Row 82: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), turn. Skip first and next dc st., 1dc into next dc st. (ch1, skip next dc st., 1dc into next dc st.)* repeat 28 times across. The last dc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch3 of previous row.

    Row 83: ch1, turn. 1sc into first dc st. 1sc into each ch1 space, 1sc into each dc st. across. The last sc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch4 of previous row.
    (59 sc sts) 

    Row 84: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), turn. Skip first and next sc st., 1dc into next sc st. (ch1, skip next sc st., 1dc into next sc st.)* repeat 28 times across.

    Row 85: ch1, turn. 1hdc into first dc st., 1hdc into each ch1 space, 1hdc into each dc st. across. The last hdc goes into 3rd ch of the turning ch4 of previous row.
    (59 hdc sts)

    Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

    Round Decorative Doily Placemat Crochet Pattern

    Today I have a simple yet elegant crochet Round Decorative Doily Placemat pattern to share with you. It is made in 14 rounds using 100% cotton yarn. If you can crochet in the round and know how to work the basic crochet stitches, you are good to go.

    Written Pattern:

    Size: The doily placemat measures approximately 31 cm (12.2 inches) in diameter.

    Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

    Materials Used:
    • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Drops Safran 100% cotton yarn weight/length: 50 g = approx 160 m in colorways 28 (orange) and 04 (sage green). 31 grams (100 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
    • 3mm crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

    Abbreviations (US terms):

    st./sts - stitch
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet

    ch4picot - ch4, insert your hook into center of the base stitch, yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

    Two Color Picot Square Placemat Crochet Pattern



    Hi Everyone! 😊
    This time I am sharing the Two Color Picot Square Placemat crochet pattern with you. I used two different colors - beige and pink, but you can just keep it all the same color. These can be used individually as placemats or joined together to create tablecloths, blankets, tops, dresses, etc. I also have a matching Square Picot Coaster crochet pattern which is made in one color.

    Written Pattern:


    Size: The placemat measures approx. 25 cm x 25 cm (9.8 inches x 9.8 inches).

    Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.

    Materials Used:

    •  DK / Worsted yarn, size 3 / 4 - light / medium. I used Drops Cotton Light 50% Cotton, 50% Polyester yarn in the colorways 21 (light beige) and 05 (light pink). 50 grams (105 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
    • 4mm ( US size G-6) crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

    Abbreviations (US terms):

    st. - stitch
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    hdc - half double crochet
    dc - double crochet

    3hdc puff (hdc3tog) - 3 half double crochet closed together - (Yarn over, insert your hook into indicated stitch, yarn over, pull the yarn through the stitch)* repeat 3 times. Now you should have 7 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all 7 loops.  
    ch3(4)picot ch3 or ch4, insert your hook into the center of the base stitch (or, insert the hook into first ch made), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

    Instructions:



    Start with the beige yarn.
