Crochet Tote Market Bag - Easy Pattern



Hello Everyone! πŸ˜‰
Today I would like to share the Market Tote Bag crochet pattern with you. It's worked from the bottom up.The handle straps are crocheted directly onto the body so the bag is one piece with no extra seaming.
This pattern is written for those with basic crochet knowledge.To make this bag, you should be familiar with basic crochet stitches and terminology. You should also know how to crochet in the round.
I used DK weight (size 3 - light) YarnArt Macrame cord type polyester yarn and a 3,5 mm (E4) crochet hook.

Written Pattern:

Finished Size: Height without handle straps: 33cm (13'');
Width: 33 cm (13'');
Depth: 7 cm (2,8'');
Handle strap length: 32 cm (12,6'')

Skill Level: Easy (advanced beginner)

Gauge: 18 stitches = 10 cm (4'') in double crochet

Materials Used:

  • DK weight cord type polyester yarn, size 3 - light. I used YarnArt Macrame - (90 grams / 130 meters) - 100% Polyester. 3 skeins (approx 245 grams, 355 meters) needed for this pattern. You can also use 2 mm crochet (macrame) cord. 
  • 3,5 mm  (E4) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or latch hook for weaving in ends.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
sp./sps - space / spaces
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet

( )* - repeat instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.




Instructions:

BASE

Foundation chain: ch52 (multiples of 4)

Round 1: 3dc in 3rd ch st. from hook, 1dc in each of next 48 ch sts, 6dc in last ch st., 1dc in each of next 48 ch sts along the other side of the foundation chain,
3dc in last ch st.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st.
(108 dc sts)

Round 2: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 2dc in same st., 2dc in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in each of next 48 sts, 2dc in each of next 6 sts, 1dc in each of next 48 sts, 2dc in each of remaining 3 sts.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st.
(120 dc sts)

Round 3: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc in same st., 1hdc in each st. around.
Join the round with a sl st. in first hdc st.
(120 hdc sts)



BASE

Round 4: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn, 1dc in next st., ch2,
(skip 2 sts, 1dc in each of next 2 sts, ch2)* repeat 29 times around.
Join the round with a sl st. in 3rd ch of beginning ch3.
(30 2dc sts, 30 ch2 sps)

Round 5: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1hdc in each st., 2hdc in each ch2 sp. around.
Join the round with a sl st. in first hdc st.
(120 hdc sts)

Round 6 - 31: repeat Round 4 & 5!




Round 32: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn, 1dc in next st., (ch2, skip 2 sts, 1dc in each of next 2 sts)* repeat 3 times,
ch50, skip 26 sts,
1dc in each of next 2 sts, (ch2, skip 2 sts, 1dc in each of next 2 sts)* repeat 8 times,
ch50, skip 26 sts,
(1dc in each of next 2 sts, ch2, skip 2 sts)* repeat 5 times.
Join the round with a sl st. in 3rd ch of beginning ch3.
(18 2dc sts, 16 ch2 sps, 2 ch50)




Round 33: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1hdc in each st., 2hdc in each ch2 sp., 1hdc in each ch st. of ch50.
Join the round with a sl st. in first hdc st.
(168 hdc sts)

Round 34: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc in same st., 1hdc in each st. around.
Join the round with a sl st. in first hdc st.
(168 hdc sts)

Fasten off, weave in all ends.

The Lilac Tote Shoulder Bag - Free Crochet Pattern



Hello Everyone! πŸ˜‰

Today I am here to share the Lilac Tote Shoulder crochet pattern with you. It's worked from the bottom up, in joined rounds using crochet stitches such as - chainslip stitchsingle crochet and double crochet, 2 double crochet cluster stitchThe handle strap is made as separate piece and sewn to the bag after it's completed.

I used Worsted / Aran weight (#4) cord type yarn ( thickness - 3 mm)

Written Pattern:

Finished Size: 
Height: 30 cm (11,8''); Width at widest point: 34 cm (13,4''); Depth: 8,5 cm (3,3''); Strap length: 60 cm (23,6'')

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate (advanced beginner)

Gauge: 7 stitches x 3,5 rows = 5 cm (2'') x 5 cm (2'') in double crochet

Materials Used:
  • Worsted - Aran weight cord type yarn, size 4 - medium. I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton - (250 grams / 225 meters) - 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester. 2 skeins (approx 387 metres) needed for this pattern.
  • 4,5 mm (G/7) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle.
  • 2 Stitch markers.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
sp./sps. - space / spaces
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet

2dc cluster - 2 double crochet cluster stitch - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated stitch or chain space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 2 times. Now you have 3 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

Join the round with a sl st. in first sc st.
(64 sts)

Round 20: sl st. in each st. around. Join the round with a sl st. in first st., ch1.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.




THE STRAP

Foundation chain: leave approx 20 cm long tail for sewing! Ch71.

Row 1: 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch st. across. 
(70 sts)

Row 2 - 4: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc in each st. across. 
(70 sts)

Fasten off, leaving approx 20 cm long tail for sewing.


Lay your bag on a flat surface and place stitch markers in both side corners.
Sew the ends of the strap tightly into the corners of your bag.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Popcorn Stitch Triangle Shawl - Free Crochet Pattern


Hi Everyone!πŸ™‚
I have the Popcorn Stitch Triangle Shawl crochet pattern for you today.
This simple triangle shawl is worked from the top down, in back and forth rows.
The pattern is worked using crochet stitches such as: chain, single crochet, double crochet and 5 double crochet popcorn stitch.
All you need to start is one skein of your favourite fingering weight yarn (I used one skein of YarnArt Flowers ''cake'' yarn) and a 4 mm crochet hook.

Written Pattern

Finished Size (unblocked): Height - 76 cm (30''), Width - 166 cm (65,4'').

Skill Level: Intermediate 

Gauge: 11 stitches = 5 cm (2'') in double crochet.

Materials Used:

  • Fingering weight yarn, size 1 - super fineI used YarnArt Flowers (250g/ 1000m) 55% cotton, 45% acrylic yarn in color 293. 1 skein of yarn (1000 meters) needed for this pattern.
  • 4.0 mm (US size G/6) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or a latch hook.


  • Abbreviations (US terms):

    sk
    - skip
    sp. / sps. - space / spaces
    st. / sts - stitch / stitches
    ch - chain
    sc - single crochet

    dc - double crochet

    5dc popcorn - 5 double crochet popcorn stitch – work 5dc in same stitch. Drop loop from the hook, insert your hook from front to back in the first dc. Place dropped loop on the hook and pull through stitch.

    RS - right side
    WS - wrong side

    ( )* – repeat the instructions between the brackets as directed.




    PATTERN NOTES:

    • The shawl is worked from the top down, in back and forth rows.
    • You can adjust the size of the shawl by adding or subtracting the pattern repeats (Rows 4 - 11).
