Granny Stitch Doily Crochet Pattern



Hi Everyone! 🙂
This time i have an easy Granny Stitch Doily crochet pattern to share with you. It is made in only 14 rounds using mercerised cotton yarn. If you can crochet in the round and know how to work the basic crochet stitches, you are good to go.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 27 cm (10,6 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.
Materials Used:
  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 5329 (light green). 33 grams (83 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.0mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

ch3picot - ch3, insert your hook into base of that ch3 or into first ch made (into 3rd ch from hook), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.


Instructions:


Start with ch5 and join with a sl st. into first ch to make a ring. Or, you can make a magic (adjustable) ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into each st. around (36 sts).
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next st.,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 15 times around (48 sts).
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, 1dc into same st. (into base of that ch3), 
(skip next st., (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next st.)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 5: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same ch1 space, ch1,
(2dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 6: sl st. into next st., sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into same ch1 space, ch1,
(3dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 7: sl st. into next 2 sts, sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into same ch1 space, ch1,
(3dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 8: sl st. into next 2 sts, sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 3dc into same ch1 space, ch1,
(4dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

Round 9: sl st. into next 3 sts, sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 3dc into same ch1 space,
(ch2, 4dc into next ch1 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with 1hdc on top of the beginning ch3 to make last ch2.

Round 10: ch1, 1sc into that last 1hdc (ch2) space of the previous round, 
(ch7, 1sc into next ch2 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch3 + 1trc into first sc to make last ch7.

Round 11: ch1, 1sc into that (ch3 + 1trc) space of the previous round, ch3, 1sc into same (ch3 + 1trc) space,
(ch7, 1sc into next ch7 space, ch3, 1sc into same ch7 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch3 + 1trc into first sc to make last ch7.


Round 12: ch1, 1sc into that (ch3 + 1trc) space of the previous round, ch3, 1sc into same (ch3 + 1trc) space,
(ch8, 1sc into next ch7 space, ch3, 1sc into same ch7 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch4 + 1trc into first sc to make last ch8.

Round 13: ch1, 1sc into that (ch4 + 1trc) space of the previous round, ch9,
(skip next ch3, 1sc into next ch8 space, ch9)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Round 14: sl st. into next ch9 space, ch1, 6sc into same ch9 space, ch3picot, 6sc into same ch9 space,
(6sc into next ch9 space, ch3picot, 6sc into same ch9 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
