Round Picot Doily Coaster - Easy Pattern

Today i have a simple yet elegant Round Crochet Picot Doily Coaster pattern to share with you. It is made in only 7 rounds using the cotton yarn. You can crochet this in any type of yarn or thread.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily coaster measures approximately 16 cm (6.3 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.

Materials Used:

  • Fingering weight 100% cotton yarn, size 1 - super fine. I used Alize Bella yarn in the colorway 619 (coral). 8 grams of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
trc2(3)tog - 2(3) treble crochet closed together

ch4picot ch4, insert your hook into the center of the base stitch (or, insert the hook into first ch), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.



Instructions:

Start with ch8, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch4 (counts as a trc), trc2tog into the ring, ch5,
(trc3tog into the ring, ch5)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the trc2tog.

Round 2: sl st. into next ch5 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 5dc into that same ch5 space,
(6dc into next ch5 space)* repeat 7 times around. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.



Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that ch3, 1dc into next 3 sts,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts)* repeat 11 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 5: ch1, 1sc into the base of that ch1, 
(ch3, skip 1 st., 1sc into next st.)* repeat 29 times around.
Join with ch1 + 1hdc into first sc.

Round 6: ch1, 1sc into that (ch1 + 1hdc) space of the previous round, ch3, 1sc into next ch3 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch3 space,
(ch3, 1sc into next ch3 space, ch3, 1sc into next ch3 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch3 space)* repeat 9 times around.
Join with ch1 + 1hdc into first sc.

Round 7: ch1, 1sc into that (ch1 +1hdc) space of the previous round, ch3, 1sc into next ch3 space, (5dc, ch4picot, 5dc) into next ch5 space,
(1sc into next ch3 space, ch3, 1sc into next ch3 space, (5dc, ch4picot, 5dc) into next ch5 space)* repeat 9 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
