Crochet Festive Little Doily Free Pattern

I made another doily pattern and thought you would like to see it. πŸ˜ƒ
This little doily is lovely to make and it works up quickly. It may resamble a snowflake but i think you will like to use this all year round.

Written Pattern:

Size:
The doily measures approximately 17cm (6.7 inches) in diameter. 

Skill Level:
Easy to Intermediate

Materials used:
Madame Tricote Paris mercerized cotton yarn; sport weight, size 2 ; 50g, 125m;
 3.0mm crochet hook. 


Abbreviations (US terms):
sl st. - slip stitch
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
dc2(3)tog - 2(3) double crochet closed together

V st. (V stitch) - (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into same st.

ch3picot - ch3, insert the hook into the first ch, yarn over and pull the yarn through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.


Start with a magic (adjustable) ring or ch5 and join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch3 (will count as the first dc), 17dc into the ring. (18st.)
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 2: ch3 (will count as the first dc), 1dc into the base of that ch3, 1dc into next st.,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 8 times around. (27st.)
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 3: ch3 (will count as the first dc), ch2, 1dc into the base of that ch3 , ch2,
(skip 2 st., V st. into next st., ch2)* repeat 8 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 4: sl st. into next ch2 space (first V st.), ch3 (will count as the first dc), (2dc, ch2, 3dc) into that same first V st., ch1,
((3dc, ch2, 3dc) into next V st., ch1)* repeat 8 times.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 5: sl st. into next 2 sts, sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (will count as the first dc), (2dc, ch3, 3dc) into that same ch2 space, ch3,
((3dc, ch3, 3dc) into next ch2 space, ch3)* repeat 8 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 6: sl st. into next 2sts, sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (will count as the first dc), (dc2tog, ch2, ch3picot, ch2, dc3tog, ch2, ch3picot, ch2, dc3tog) into that same ch3 space, ch4, 1sc into next ch3 space, ch4,
(((dc3tog, ch2, ch3picot, ch2)* repeat 2 times, dc3tog) into next ch3 space, ch4, 1sc into next ch3 space, ch4)* repeat 8 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the dc2tog.

ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

Crochet Minty Doily/Motif Free Pattern

I love crocheting small doilies. They are both very nice to look at and enjoyable to make. There are infinite ways you can use them.

Size:
The doily measures approx. 16cm (6.3 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level:
Easy to Intermediate

Materials used:
Alize Bella 100% cotton yarn, 50 grams, 180 metres, fingering weight, size 1 - super fine;
3.0mm (C/2) crochet hook.
Abbreviations (US terms):
sl st. - slip stitch
ch - chain sc - single crochet dc - double crochet trc - treble crochet dc2(3)tog - 2(3) double crochet closed together ch4picot - ch4, insert the hook back into first ch , yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

The snowflake measures approximately 12cm (4.7 inches) in diameter.

Materials used: 
3.0mm crochet hook, sport weight, size 2 cotton yarn.

Abbreviations (US terms):
st. - stitch
sl st. - slip stitch
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
trc - treble crochet
trc4tog - 4 treble crochet closed together.

ch5picot - ch5, insert the hook into the base st. (or, into first ch), yarn over, pull the yarn through all loops on hook.

Instructions:

  • DK weight cotton acrylic blend yarn, size 3 - light. I used Nako Calico yarn. 35 grams ( 85,4 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 4mm (US size G/6) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.
