Crochet Round Coaster/Motif - Free Pattern


Hi Everyone! πŸ™‚
This time i have an easy Round Coaster/Motif crochet pattern to share with you.
It's suitable for beginners who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches. These can be used individually as coasters or joined together to create tablecloths, tops, dresses, etc.
Below you will find a video tutorial on how to crochet the coaster the coaster as well as the written instructions.

Written Pattern:

Size: The coaster measures approx. 15 cm (5.9 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate


Materials Used:


  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Nako Fiore 25% linen, 35% cotton, 40% bamboo viscose yarn. 10 grams (30 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


  • Abbreviations (US terms):

    st. - stitch
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    hdc - half double crochet
    dc - double crochet


    ch3picot ch3, insert your hook into the center of the base stitch (or, insert the hook into first ch made), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

    ()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

    Instructions:

    Start with ch4, sl st. into first ch to form a ring. Or, you can make a magic (adjustable) ring.


    Round 1: ch2 (counts as a hdc), 11hdc into the ring.
    Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch2.


    Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch2,
    (1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 11 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.

    Round 3: sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into same ch2 space, ch1,
    (3dc into next ch2 space, ch1)* repeat 11 times around.
    Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

    Round 4: sl st. into next 2 sts, sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 3dc into same ch1 space, ch1,
    (skip next 3 sts, 4dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 11 times around.
    Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch3.

    Round 5: ch2 (counts as a hdc), 1hdc into next 3 sts, 2hdc into next ch1 space,
    (1hdc into next 4 sts, 2hdc into next ch1 space)* repeat 11 times around.
    Join with a sl st. on top of the beginning ch2.

    Round 6: ch1, 1sc into same st., 
    (ch4, skip next 2 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 23 times around.
    Join with ch1 + 1dc into first sc at the beginning of the round to make last ch4.

    Round 7: ch1, 1sc into that (ch1 + 1dc) space of the previous round,
    (ch5, 1sc into next ch4 space)* repeat 23 times around.
    Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc at the beginning of the round to make last ch5.

    Round 8: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of the previous round, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, (1dc, ch3picot, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch3picot, 1dc) into next ch5 space,
    (1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, (1dc, ch3picot, 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch3picot, 1dc) into next ch5 space)* repeat 7 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into first sc at the beginning of the round.

    Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

    Square Picot Coaster Crochet Pattern


    Hi Everyone! 😊
    Today i am sharing the Square Picot Coaster crochet pattern with you. This pattern is a nice project for your table or as a gift for any occasion. All you need to start is some yarn or thread in the color of your choice and a crochet hook. You can go up in yarn and hook size to crochet a bigger coaster.

    Size: The coaster measures approx. 13 x 13 cm (5.1 x 5.1 inches).

    Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.




    Materials Used:

    • Fingering yarn, size 1 - super fine. I used Alize Bella Batik Design 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 1815. 10 grams (36 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
    • 3mm crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

    Abbreviations (US terms):

    st. - stitch
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    hdc - half double crochet
    dc - double crochet

    3hdc puff (hdc3tog) - 3 half double crochet closed together - (Yarn over, insert your hook into indicated stitch, yarn over, pull the yarn through the stitch)* repeat 3 times. Now you should have 7 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all 7 loops.  

    ch3(4)picot ch3 or ch4, insert your hook into the center of the base stitch (or, insert the hook into first ch made), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

    Salmon Star Doily Free Crochet Pattern

    Today i have the Salmon Star Doily crochet pattern to share with you. This doily pattern will work well for those who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches. It is made in only 12 rounds using mercerised cotton yarn. You can crochet this in any type of yarn or thread.

    Size: The doily measures approximately 30 cm (11.8 inches) in diameter.

    Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

    Materials Used:

    • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla mercerised 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 5320 (salmon). 40 grams (100 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
    • 3.0mm crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

    Abbreviations (US terms):
    st. - stitch
    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    dc - double crochet
    trc - treble crochet


    dc2tog - 2 double crochet closed together
