Round Doily Placemat - Free Crochet Pattern



Hello Everyone! πŸ™‚ 
Today I have a Round Doily Placemat crochet pattern to share with you. All you need to start to make this is some yarn or thread in the color of your choice and a crochet hook.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 
31 cm (12,2 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy (advanced beginner)

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Alize Bahar mercerised 100% cotton yarn in color 368 (camel).                    
       45 grams (117 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches                            sp. - space
ch - chain                                                 sk - skip
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
dc4(5)tog - 4 or 5 double crochet closed together

dc4tog – 4 double crochet closed together - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 4 times. Now you have 5 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 5 loops. 
dc5tog – 5 double crochet closed together - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 5 times. Now you have 6 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops. 


( )* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.
[ ]* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.





Instructions:


Start with ch5, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring. Or, you can make a magic (adjustable) ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 15dc into ring.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.  
(16 dc sts)

Round 2: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1),
(1dc into next st., ch1)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 2dc into next ch1 sp., 1dc into next st., ch2,
(sk next ch1, 1dc into next st., 2dc into next ch1 sp., 1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.


Round 4: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2,
(sk next ch2, 1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 5: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into next st., 2dc into next st., 1dc into next st., 2dc into next st., ch2,
(sk next ch2, 1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., 1dc into next st., 2dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 6: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., 1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2,
(sk next ch2, 1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st., 1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 7: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2,
(sk next ch2, 1dc into next 4 sts, 2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 10: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc into same st., 1hdc into next 14 sts, 2hdc into next ch2 sp.,
(1hdc into next 15 sts, 2hdc into next ch2 sp.)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc st.
(136 hdc sts)

Round 11: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st.,
(ch6, sk next 3 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 33 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc st.

Round 12: ch2 (counts as 1dc of dc5tog), dc4tog into same (ch2 + 1dc) space of previous round,
(ch7, sk next st., dc5tog into next ch6 sp.)* repeat 33 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first dc4tog st.

Round 13: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same (ch2 + 1trc) space of previous round,
(ch7, sk next st., 1sc into next ch7 sp.)* repeat 33 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first sc st.

Round 14: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same (ch2 + 1trc) space of previous round, ch1, sk next st., [1trc, ch1]* repeat 6 times into next ch7 sp.,
(sk next st., 1sc into next ch7 sp., ch1, sk next st., [1trc, ch1]* repeat 6 times into next ch7 sp.)* repeat 16 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc st.


Round 15: sl st. into next ch1 sp., ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same ch1 sp., [ch4, sk next st., 1sc into next ch1 sp.]* repeat 6 times,
([sk next st., 1sc into next ch1 sp., ch4]* repeat 6 times, sk next st., 1sc into next ch1 sp.)* repeat 16 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc st.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

Oval Violet Doily - Free Crochet Pattern

Today I have the Oval Violet Doily crochet pattern to share with you. It is made in only 15 rounds using mercerised cotton yarn and a 3 mm crochet hookAll you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Instructions:

Foundation chain: ch22

Round 1: 5dc into the 4th ch st. from hook,


 
1dc into next 17 ch sts, 



6dc into last ch st., 



1dc into next 17 ch sts on the other side of the foundation chain.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round. 
(46 sts including ch3 at the beginning of round)




Round 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next 5 dc sts,
1dc into next 17 dc sts,
2dc into next 6 dc sts,
1dc into next 17 dc sts.
Join with a sl st. into first dc.

Round 3: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), 
(1dc into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 10 times,
1dc into next 19 dc sts,

Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 12: sl st. into next 4 dc sts, sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (1dc, ch3, 2dc, ch1) into same ch2 space,
(skip next 5 dc sts, (2dc, ch3, 2dc, ch1) into next ch2 space)* repeat 27 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

The doily might curl up at this round. Don't worry, it will flatten back down when further rounds are done!!!

I have a Simple Round Doily crochet pattern for you today. It's suitable for beginners who are familiar with the basic stitches. All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 27 cm (10,6'') in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy.

Materials Used:
  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla mercerised cotton yarn. 30 grams ( 75 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
