Delicate Lace Doily - Free Crochet Pattern



Hello Everyone! πŸ˜‰
Today i'm here to share my Delicate Lace Doily chrochet pattern with you.
It's made in 18 rounds using sport weight mercerised cotton yarn and a 3mm crochet hook. All you need to start is some yarn or thread in the color of your choice and a crochet hook. You can go up in yarn and hook size to make a bigger doily.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 36 cm
(14.1 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Alize Bahar mercerised 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 01 (cream). 57 grams (149 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

dc2(3)tog – 2(3) double crochet closed together - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 2(3) times. Now you have 3(4) loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3(4) loops.

trc5(6)tog  5(6) treble crochet closed together - (yarn over twice, insert the hook into next st., yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 5(6) times. Now you have 6(7) loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 6(7) loops.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.





Instructions:


Start with ch6, sl st. into first ch to form a ring. Or, you can make a magic (adjustable) ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 15dc into ring.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3. (16 sts)

Round 2: ch5 (counts as 1dc + ch2), 
(1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch5.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st.,ch2,
(skip next ch2, 2dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.


Round 4: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into next st., ch2,
(skip next ch2, 1dc into each of next 2 sts, ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 5: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next st., ch2,
(skip next ch2, 2dc into each of next 2 sts, ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 6: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into each of next 3 sts, ch2,
(skip next ch2, 1dc into each of next 4 sts, ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 7: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2,
(skip next ch2, 2dc into next st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts, 2dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 8: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into each of next 5 sts, ch2,
(skip next ch2, 1dc into each of next 6 sts, ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 9: ch3 (counts as 1trc of trc6tog), trc5tog over next 5 sts, ch9,
(skip next ch2, trc6tog over next 6 sts, ch9)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first trc5tog.

Round 10: sl st. into next 2 ch sts of next ch9, ch3 (counts as 1dc), 2dc into same ch9 space, ch1, 3dc into same ch9 space, ch1, 3dc into same ch9 space, ch1,
(3dc into next ch9 space, ch1, 3dc into same ch9 space, ch1, 3dc into same ch9 space, ch1)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

Round 11: sl st. into next 2 sts, sl st. into next ch1 space, ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same ch1 space, 
(ch4, skip next 3 sts, 1sc into next ch1 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch1 + 1dc into first sc at the beginning of the round.

Round 12: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch1 + 1dc) space of previous round, 
(ch5, 1sc into next ch4 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc at the beginning of the round.

Round 13: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch2 + 1dc) space of previous round, 
(ch6, 1sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first sc at the beginning of the round.

Round 14: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch2 + 1trc) space of previous round, 
(ch6, 1sc into next ch6 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first sc at the beginning of the round.


Round 15: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch2 + 1trc) space of previous round, 
(ch7, 1sc into next ch6 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch3 + 1trc into first sc at the beginning of the round.

Round 16: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch3 + 1trc) space of previous round, 
(ch7, 1sc into next ch7 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with ch3 + 1trc into first sc at the beginning of the round.

Round 17: ch2 (counts as 1dc of dc3tog), dc2tog into that same (ch3 + 1trc) space of previous round, ch1, (1trc, ch1)* repeat 5 times into next ch7 space,
(dc3tog into next ch7 space, ch1, (1trc, ch1)* repeat 5 times into next ch7 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first dc2tog at the beginning of the round.

Round 18: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same ch1 space, (ch4, skip next st., 1sc into next ch1 space)* repeat 5 times,
(skip next st., 1sc into next ch1 space, (ch4, skip next st., 1sc into next ch1 space)* repeat 5 times)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc at the beginning of the round.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
