The Lilac Tote Shoulder Bag - Free Crochet Pattern



Hello Everyone! πŸ˜‰

Today I am here to share the Lilac Tote Shoulder crochet pattern with you. It's worked from the bottom up, in joined rounds using crochet stitches such as - chainslip stitchsingle crochet and double crochet, 2 double crochet cluster stitchThe handle strap is made as separate piece and sewn to the bag after it's completed.

I used Worsted / Aran weight (#4) cord type yarn ( thickness - 3 mm)

Written Pattern:

Finished Size: 
Height: 30 cm (11,8''); Width at widest point: 34 cm (13,4''); Depth: 8,5 cm (3,3''); Strap length: 60 cm (23,6'')

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate (advanced beginner)

Gauge: 7 stitches x 3,5 rows = 5 cm (2'') x 5 cm (2'') in double crochet

Materials Used:
  • Worsted - Aran weight cord type yarn, size 4 - medium. I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton - (250 grams / 225 meters) - 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester. 2 skeins (approx 387 metres) needed for this pattern.
  • 4,5 mm (G/7) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle.
  • 2 Stitch markers.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
sp./sps. - space / spaces
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet

2dc cluster - 2 double crochet cluster stitch - (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated stitch or chain space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 2 times. Now you have 3 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops. 

( )* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

Instructions:


BASE

Foundation chain: ch32

Round 1: 3dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 28 ch sts, 6dc in last ch st., 1dc in each of next 28 ch sts along the other side of the foundation chain, 3dc in last ch st.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st.
(68 sts)

Round 2: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 2dc in same st., 2dc in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in each of next 28 sts, 2dc in each of next 6 sts, 1dc in each of next 28 sts, 2dc in each of remaining 3 sts.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st.
(80 sts)

Round 3: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 2dc in same st., 2dc in each of next 3 sts, 1dc in each of next 32 sts, 2dc in each of next 8 sts, 1dc in each of next 32 sts, 2dc in each of remaining 4 sts.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st. Do not fasten off.
(96 sts)




BODY

Round 4: ch2 (counts as 1dc of first 2dc cluster st.), 
(1dc, ch1, 2dc cluster) in same st., 
(skip 2 sts, (2dc cluster, ch1, 2dc cluster) in next st.)* repeat 31 times around.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st.
(64 2dc cluster sts., 32 ch1 sps.)




Round 5: sl st. in next ch1 sp., ch2 (counts as 1dc of first 2dc cluster st.), 
(1dc, ch1, 2dc cluster) in that same ch1 sp., 
(skip 2 sts, (2dc cluster, ch1, 2dc cluster) in next ch1 sp.)* repeat 31 times around.
Join the round with a sl st. in first dc st.
(64 2dc cluster sts., 32 ch1 sps.)




Round 6 - 18: repeat Round 5.

Round 19: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc in same st., 
(skip next ch1 sp., 1sc in next 2 sts)* repeat 31 times around,
skip next ch1 sp., 1sc in last st.
Join the round with a sl st. in first sc st.
(64 sts)

Round 20: sl st. in each st. around. Join the round with a sl st. in first st., ch1.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.




THE STRAP

Foundation chain: leave approx 20 cm long tail for sewing! Ch71.

Row 1: 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch st. across. 
(70 sts)

Row 2 - 4: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc in each st. across. 
(70 sts)

Fasten off, leaving approx 20 cm long tail for sewing.


Lay your bag on a flat surface and place stitch markers in both side corners.
Sew the ends of the strap tightly into the corners of your bag.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.

The Shells Tote Bag - Free Crochet Pattern




Hi everyone!πŸ™‚

Today i am sharing the Shells Tote Bag crochet pattern with you. Perfect for market, beach trips, day trips, etc. It's very easy to make - worked in joined rounds using basic stitches - chain, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet.
It's worked from the bottom up.The handle straps are crocheted directly onto the body so the bag is one piece with no extra seaming.
I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton cord type yarn (thickness - 3 mm), but any worsted weight cotton or cotton blend yarn will work.

Round 7 - 18: repeat Round 5 - 6.




HANDLE STRAPS

Round 19: ch1 (doesn’t count as a st.), 1sc in same st., 1sc in each of next 15 sts, ch70, skip next 23 sts, 1sc in each of next 25 sts, ch70, skip next 23 sts, 1sc in each of remaining 9 sts until the end of round.
Join with a sl st. in first sc st. at the beginning of round.      
(50 sc sts, 140 ch sts)


At this round you can also use stitch markers instead of counting stitches where the handle straps are going to be created.

 

Finish Round 18 as directed, lay your bag on a flat surface and place stitch markers approx 9 cm (3,5'') from the sides of the bag (2 stitch markers on front and 2 on back panel of the bag). Make sure that they are in the same place on both sides and continue as follows:

ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc in same st., 1sc in each st. until you get to the first stitch marker, remove the marker and 1sc in the marked st.,

ch70, remove the second stitch marker, 1sc in the marked st., 1sc in each st. until you get to the third stitch marker, remove the marker, 1sc in the marked st.,

ch70, remove the fourth stitch marker, 1sc in the marked st., 1sc in each st. until the end of the round.

Join with a sl st. in first sc st. at the beginning of round.






Round 20: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc in same st., 1dc in each st. around.
Join with a sl st. in first dc st.
(190 dc sts)

Round 21: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc in same st., 1sc in each st. around.
Join with a sl st. in first sc st.
(190 sc sts)

Fasten off, weave in all ends!

Crochet V Stitch Bag Pattern

Today I am here to share the V Stitch Bag crochet pattern with you. It's worked from the bottom up. The straps are made in two separate sides and sewn together.
This pattern is written for those with basic crochet knowledge.To make this tote bag, you should be familiar with basic crochet stitches and terminology. You should also know how to crochet in the round as well as how to work in back and forth turned rows.
I used DK weight (size 3 - light) YarnArt Macrame cord type polyester yarn and a 3,5 mm (E4) crochet hook.

(sk next 2 sts, V st. into next st.)* repeat 37 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

Round 6: sl st. into center of first V st. of previous round, 
ch4, 1dc into same st. (counts as first V st.),
V st. into center of each V st. around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

Round 7 - 21: repeat Round 6






Fasten off, weave in the ends.


Bag Straps


Lay your bag on a flat surface, measure it across and mark the V stitch in the center. Repeat on the other side of the bag and make sure the V stitches you marked line up on both sides. 





Strap 1:

With the right side of bag facing, join the yarn to the left dc st. of the marked V stitch.



Row 1: ch3 (doesn't count as st.), 1dc into center of next V st., 
V st. into center of next 16 V sts,
dc2tog over the center of next V st. and first dc st. of next (marked) V st.
(1 dc st., 16 V sts, 1 dc2tog st.)

Row 2: ch3 (doesn't count as st.), turn, 1dc into center of next V st., 
V st. into center of next  14 V sts,
dc2tog over the center of next V st. and last dc st.
(1dc st., 14 V sts, 1 dc2tog st.)

Row 3: ch3 (doesn't count as st.), turn, 1dc into center of next V st., 
V st. into center of next 12 V sts,
dc2tog over the center of next V st. and last dc st.
(1dc st., 12 V sts, 1 dc2tog st.)

Row 4: ch3 (doesn't count as st.), turn, 1dc into center of next V st., 
V st. into center of next 10 V sts,
dc2tog over the center of next V st. and last dc st.

Row 5: ch3 (doesn't count as st.), turn, 1dc into center of next V st.,

Row 8: ch3 (doesn't count as st.), turn, 1dc into center of next V st., 
V st. into center of next 2 V sts,

Row 9: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn, V st. into center of next 2 V sts, 1dc into last dc st.
(2 dc sts, 2 V sts)




Row 10: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turnV st. into center of next 2 V sts, 1dc on top of turning (last) ch3.
(2 dc sts, 2 V sts)


Row 11 - 21: repeat Row 10





Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.


Strap 2:

With the right side of bag facing, join the yarn to the left dc st. of the marked V stitch.

Row 1 - 21: repeat exactly the same as for the Strap 1!


Bring both ends of the straps together so they line up evenly. Sew them together using the seaming method of your choice.




Sew / weave in all ends.
