Today i would like to share with you one of my favorite patterns - Crochet Summer Skies Doily. It is so simple and elegant at the same time.
All you need to start is some yarn or thread in the color of your choice and a crochet hook.

Written Pattern
Size:
The doily measures approximately 25 cm (9.8 inches) in diameter.
Skill Level:
Easy to Intermediate
Materials Used:
- Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 4917 (light blue). 26 grams of yarn needed for this pattern.
- 3 mm crochet hook.
- Scissors.
- Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.
Abbreviations (US terms)
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
dtrc - double treble crochet
dc2(3)tog - 2 or 3 double crochet closed together
ch3picot - ch3, insert the hook into the base st., yarn over, pull the yarn through all loops on hook.
()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.
Instructions:
Start with ch5, join with a sl st. to form a ring.
Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next st.,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 2 sts,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next 2 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 5: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 3 sts,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 6: ch1, 1sc into same st., ch5, skip 2 sts, 1sc into next st.,
(1sc into next st., ch5, skip 2 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
Round 7: sl st. into next ch5 space, ch1, 2sc into that same ch5 space,
(ch7, 2sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dtrc into first sc.
Round 8: ch3 (counts as a dc), (dc2tog, ch5, dc3tog) into that (ch2 + 1dtrc) space of the previous round,
(ch5, (dc3tog, ch5, dc3tog) into next ch7 space)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dc on top of the dc2tog.
Round 9: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of that previous round, ch1, (2dc, 3trc, 2dc) into next ch5 space, ch1, 1sc into next ch5 space,
(1sc into that same ch5 space, ch1, (2dc, 3trc, 2dc) into next ch5 space, ch1, 1sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 19 times around
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
Round 10: ch6, skip 3 sts, 1sc into next st., ch3picot, ch6, skip 3 sts, sl st. into next st.,
(sl st. into next st., ch6, skip 3 sts, 1sc into next st., ch3picot, ch6, skip 3 sts, sl st. into next st.)* repeat 19 times around.
Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
Instructions:
Start with ch5, join with a sl st. to form a ring.
Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next st.,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 2 sts,

Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 5: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next 3 sts,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 6: ch1, 1sc into same st., ch5, skip 2 sts, 1sc into next st.,
(1sc into next st., ch5, skip 2 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
Round 7: sl st. into next ch5 space, ch1, 2sc into that same ch5 space,
(ch7, 2sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dtrc into first sc.
Round 8: ch3 (counts as a dc), (dc2tog, ch5, dc3tog) into that (ch2 + 1dtrc) space of the previous round,
(ch5, (dc3tog, ch5, dc3tog) into next ch7 space)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dc on top of the dc2tog.
Round 9: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of that previous round, ch1, (2dc, 3trc, 2dc) into next ch5 space, ch1, 1sc into next ch5 space,
(1sc into that same ch5 space, ch1, (2dc, 3trc, 2dc) into next ch5 space, ch1, 1sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 19 times around
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
Round 10: ch6, skip 3 sts, 1sc into next st., ch3picot, ch6, skip 3 sts, sl st. into next st.,
