Crochet Popcorn Stitch Doily - Free Pattern

Hi everyone!🙂
I have a lovely Popcorn Stitch Doily crochet pattern for you today. 
This crochet pattern uses popcorn stitches which give the doily a lovely texture look. 
This pattern is a nice project for your table or as a gift for any occasion. You can also use the pattern worked with larger crochet hook and yarn to create a rug.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 24 cm (9.4 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Materials Used:

• Fingering weight cotton yarn, size 1 - super fine. I used Alize Bella Design Batik yarn in the colorway 1815. 22 grams of yarn needed for this pattern.
• 3.0mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
sl st. - slip stitch
ch - chain
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

dc3(4)popcorn -  3(4) double crochet popcorn stitch – work 3(4)dc into same stitch. Drop loop from the hook, insert your hook from front to back into the first dc. Place dropped loop on the hook and pull through stitch.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

Instructions:

Start with ch6, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the ring, ch3,
(2dc into the ring, ch3)* repeat 8 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 2: sl st. into next st., sl st. into next ch3 space, ch1, 1sc into that same ch3 space,
(ch6, 1sc into next ch3 space)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first sc.

Round 3: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1trc) space of the previous round, ch8,
(1sc into next ch6 space, ch8)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Round 4: sl st. into next ch8 space, ch1, (1sc, 1hdc, 7dc, 1hdc, 1sc) into that same ch8 space,
((1sc, 1hdc, 7dc, 1hdc, 1sc) into next ch8 space)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.



Round 5: sl st. into next 5 sts, ch1, 1sc into same st., ch10,
(skip 10 sts, 1sc into next st., ch10)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Round 6: sl st. into next ch10 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 10dc into that same ch10 space,
11dc into each ch10 space around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 7: sl st. into next 2 sts, ch3 (counts as a dc), dc3popcorn into same st., 1dc into next 5 sts, dc4popcorn into next st., ch7,
(skip 4 sts, dc4popcorn into next st., 1dc into next 5 sts, dc4popcorn into next st., ch7)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of first dc3popcorn.

Round 8: sl st. into next st., ch3 (counts as a dc), dc3popcorn into same st., 1dc into next 3 sts, dc4popcorn into next st.,
(ch5, 1sc into next ch7 space, ch5, 1sc into that same ch7 space, ch5, skip 1 st., dc4popcorn into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts, dc4popcorn into next st.)* repeat 7 times around.
ch5, 1sc into next ch7 space, ch5, 1sc into that same ch7 space.
Join with ch2 + 1dc on top of first dc4popcorn.

Round 9: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of the previous round, ch5, skip 1 st., dc4popcorn into next st., 1dc into next st., dc4popcorn into next st.,
(ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, skip 1 st., dc4popcorn into next st., 1dc into next st., dc4popcorn into next st.)* repeat 7 times around.
ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space.
Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc.

Round 10: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of the previous round, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, skip 1 st., dc4popcorn into next st.,
(ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, skip 1 st., dc4popcorn into next st.)* repeat 7 times around.
ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space, ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space.
Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc.

Round 11: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of the previous round, 
(ch5, 1sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 39 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc.

Round 12: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of the previous round,
(ch6, 1sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 39 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first sc.



Round 13: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1trc) space of the previous round, 8dc into next ch6 space,
(1sc into next ch6 space, 8dc into next ch6 space)* repeat 19 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
