Two Color Picot Square Placemat Crochet Pattern



Hi Everyone! 😊
This time I am sharing the Two Color Picot Square Placemat crochet pattern with you. I used two different colors - beige and pink, but you can just keep it all the same color. These can be used individually as placemats or joined together to create tablecloths, blankets, tops, dresses, etc. I also have a matching Square Picot Coaster crochet pattern which is made in one color.

Written Pattern:


Size: The placemat measures approx. 25 cm x 25 cm (9.8 inches x 9.8 inches).

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate.

Materials Used:

  •  DK / Worsted yarn, size 3 / 4 - light / medium. I used Drops Cotton Light 50% Cotton, 50% Polyester yarn in the colorways 21 (light beige) and 05 (light pink). 50 grams (105 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 4mm ( US size G-6) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet

3hdc puff (hdc3tog) - 3 half double crochet closed together - (Yarn over, insert your hook into indicated stitch, yarn over, pull the yarn through the stitch)* repeat 3 times. Now you should have 7 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all 7 loops.  
ch3(4)picot ch3 or ch4, insert your hook into the center of the base stitch (or, insert the hook into first ch made), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.


Instructions:



Start with the beige yarn.

Ch4, sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into ring, ch2,
(3dc into ring, ch2)* repeat 3 times.
Join with a sl st. on top of ch3 at the beginning of the round.

Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into next 2 dc sts, 2dc into next corner ch2 space, ch2, 2dc into that same corner ch2 space,
(1dc into next 3 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next corner ch2 space)* repeat 3 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of ch3 at the beginning of the round. Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off.

Join the pink yarn to first dc st. after corner ch2 of Round 2.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into next 6 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next corner ch2 space,
(1dc into next 7 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next corner ch2 space)* repeat 3 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of ch3 at the beginning of the round.

Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into next 8 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next corner ch2 space,
(1dc into next 11 dc sts, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into next corner ch2 space)* repeat 3 times around.
1dc into next 2 dc sts, sl st. on top of ch3 at the beginning of the round. Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off.
Join the beige yarn to first dc st. after corner ch2 of Round 4.

Round 5: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, (skip next dc st., 1dc into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 7 times,(1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next corner ch2 space, ch1,
(1dc into next dc st., ch1, (skip next dc st., 1dc into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 7 times, (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next corner ch2 space, ch1)* repeat 3 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.

Round 6: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into each ch1 space, 1dc into each dc st., (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into each corner ch2 space.
Join with a sl st. on top of ch3 at the beginning of the round. Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off.

Join the pink yarn to first dc st. after corner ch2 of Round 6.

Round 7: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, (skip next dc st., 1dc into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 11 times, (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next corner ch2 space, ch1, 
(1dc into next dc st., ch1, (skip next dc st., 1dc into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 11 times, (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next corner ch2 space, ch1)* repeat 3 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round.

Round 8: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into each ch1 space, 1dc into each dc st., (2dc, ch2, 2dc) into each corner ch2 space.
Join with a sl st. on top of ch3 at the beginning of the round. Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off.

Join the beige yarn to secon dc st. after corner ch2 of Round 8.

Round 9: ch1, 3hdc puff into same dc st., ch1, (skip next dc st., 3hdc puff into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 14 times, (3hdc puff, ch3, 3hdc puff) into next corner ch2 space, ch1,
(skip next dc st., 3hdc puff into next dc st., ch1)* repeat 15 times, (3hdc puff, ch3, 3hdc puff) into next corner ch2 space, ch1)* repeat 3 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of first 3hdc puff at the beginning of the round.

Round 10: sl st. into next ch1 space, (3hdc puff ch1) into each ch1 space, (3hdc puff, ch4, 3hdc puff) into each corner ch3 space.
Join with a sl st. on top of first 3hdc puff at the beginning of the round.

Round 11: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch1, (1sc, ch3picot, 1sc) into that same ch1 space. (1sc, ch3picot, 1sc) into each ch1 space, (1sc, ch3picot, 2sc, ch4picot, 2sc, ch3picot, 1sc) into each corner ch4 space.

Sunset Flower Doily - Free Crochet Pattern

Today i would like to introduce you to my Sunset Flower Doily crochet pattern. It is made in only 14 rounds using 100% cotton yarn. This doily pattern will work well for those who are familiar with the basic crochet stitches. All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Size: The doily measures approx. 29 cm (11,4 inches) in diameter.
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Materials Used:
  • Fingering weight cotton yarn, size 1 - super fine. I used Alize Bella 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 158 (lavender). 26 grams (94 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
dc2tog - 2 double crochet closed together

ch3picot -  ch3, insert the hook into first ch (into 3rd ch from the hook), yarn over, pull the yarn through all loops on hook.

Cherry Blossom Coaster Crochet Pattern

I have a lovely Cherry Blossom Coaster crochet pattern for you today. 
This pattern is a nice project for your table or as a gift for any occasion. It's suitable for those who are familiar with the basic stitches. All you need to start is some yarn or thread in the color of your choice and a crochet hook. You can go up in yarn and hook size to make a bigger coaster.

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Nako Fiore 25% linen, 35% cotton, 40% bamboo viscose yarn in the colorway 11242 (light pink). 12 grams (36 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.
