Crochet Flower Coaster Free Pattern

Written Pattern:

Size: The coaster measures approx. 14 cm (5.5 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:
  • Sport weight mercerized 100% cotton yarn, size 2 – fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorways 5329 (light green) and 4917 (light blue). 11 grams of yarn needed for this pattern. 
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms):

st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.


Instructions:

Start with ch5, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring. 

Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 2: ch1, 1sc into same st., ch3,  
(skip 1 st., 1sc into next st., ch3)* repeat 7 times around.  
Join with a sl st. into the first sc.



Round 3: sl st. into next ch3 space, ch1, (1sc, 1hdc, 3dc, 1hdc, 1sc) into that same ch3 space,  
((1sc, 1hdc, 3dc, 1hdc, 1sc) into next ch3 space)* repeat 7 times around.  
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Round 4: sl st. into next 3 sts, ch1, 1sc into same st., ch6, 
(skip 6 sts., 1sc into next st., ch6)* repeat 7 times around.  
Join with a sl st. into first sc. 

Round 5: ch2 (counts as a hdc), 7hdc into next ch6 space,  
(1hdc into next st., 7hdc into next ch6 space)* repeat 7 times around. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch2.




Round 6: ch2 (counts as a hdc), 1hdc into next 3 sts, ch3,  
(1hdc into next 4 sts, ch3)* repeat 15 times around.  
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch2.


Round 7: sl st. into next st., ch1, 1sc into same st., 1sc into next st., (1hdc, 5dc, 1hdc) into next ch3 space, 
(skip 1 st., 1sc into next 2 sts, (1hdc, 5dc, 1hdc) into next ch3 space)* repeat 15 times around. 
Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

Written Pattern

Size:
The doily measures approximately 25cm (9.8 inches) in diameter.

Skill Level:
Easy to Intermediate

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 6312 (pink). 30 grams of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3 mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


Abbreviations (US terms)
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

V stitch – (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into the same stitch (space). 

Ch3picot – ch3, insert the hook into the first ch, yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook. 

()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.



Instructions

Start with a magic (adjustable) ring; Or, ch5 and join with a sl st. into the first ch to form a ring. 

Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring. 
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.



Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 2dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next st., 
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next 2 sts, (2dc into next st., 1dc into next 2 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 5: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next 3 sts, 
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Round 6: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next 4 sts,

  • 3.0mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or you can use a crochet hook.
