Filet Crochet Rectangular Table Runner - Free Pattern



Hi Everyone! πŸ™‚
Today I have a Rectangle Table Runner crochet pattern to share with you. The pattern uses basic crochet stitches and is worked in rows (back and forth). All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Written Pattern

Size: The table runner measures approx. 29 cm x 63 cm (11.4 in x 24.8 in).

You can adjust the length of the table runner by adding or subtracting pattern repeats.
1 pattern repeat - Rows 4 - 10 - approx 7.5 cm (2.95 in).
Just make sure you end with an odd numbered pattern repeat! I made 7 pattern repeats.
You can adjust the width of the table runner by adding or subtracting chain stitches in a multiple of 28 + 10.

Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate

Gauge: 11 stitches x 4.5 rows = 5cm x 5cm (2 in x 2 in) in double crochet.

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine I used Nako Fiore 25% linen, 35% cotton, 40% bamboo viscose yarn in the colorway 11243 (yellow). 90 grams (270 meters approx) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3.5mm (US size E4) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

  • Abbreviations (US terms):

    st./sts - stitch / stitches
    ch - chain
    sc - single crochet
    dc - double crochet

    ch3picot - ch3, insert your hook into 3rd ch from hook, yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

    ()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.

    Pattern Notes:
    • Beginning (turning) ch2 and ch3 count as 1dc stitches.
    • In Rows 2 - 53 work last dc stitch into 2nd ch of beginning (turning) ch2.



    Instructions

    Foundation chain: ch66  (multiple of 28 + 10)
    28 x 2 + 10 = 66

    Row 1 (right side): 1dc into 3rd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch st. across.
    (65 sts, including ch2 at the beginning of the round)

    Row 2 (wrong side): ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts, 
    (ch1, skip next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 30 times across,
    1dc into each of last 2 sts.

    Row 3: ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts,
    (ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 30 times across,
    1dc into each of last 2 sts.

    Row 4: ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts,
    ((ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 2 times, (1dc into next ch1 space, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times)* repeat 4 times across,
    (ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 2 times, 1dc into each of last 2 sts.

    Row 5: ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts,
    ((ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 2 times, 1dc into each of next 10 sts)* repeat 4 times across,
    (ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 2 times, 1dc into each of last 2 sts.

    Row 6 - 8: repeat Row 5.

    Row 9: ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts,
    ((ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 2 times, (ch1, skip next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times)* repeat 4 times across,
    (ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 2 times, 1dc into each of last 2 sts.

    Row 10: ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each of next 2 sts,
    (ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 30 times across,
    1dc into each of last 2 sts.



    Row 11 - 52: repeat Rows 4 - 10 6 more times.

    Row 53: ch2, turn, skip first st., 1dc into each st., 1dc into each ch1 space. 
    (65 sts)
    Do not cut off the yarn!


    Edging:

    First edge:

    Round 1: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc into first st.,
    (ch4, skip next 3 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 16 times across.

    Round 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn,
    (1dc into next ch4 space, ch3, ch3picot, 3dc around 1dc post)* repeat 16 times across,
    1dc into last sc st.
    Cut off the yarn, fasten off.



    Second edge:
    With the wrong side facing up, join the yarn to the first st. of opposite end.

    Round 1: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into first st.,
    (ch4, skip next 3 sts, 1sc into next st.)* repeat 16 times across.

    Round 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), turn,
    (1dc into next ch4 space, ch3, ch3picot, 3dc around 1dc post)* repeat 16 times across,
    1dc into last sc st.
    Cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in all ends.

    Romantic Oval Doily Placemat Crochet Pattern




    Hello Everyone! πŸ™‚
    Today I have the Romantic Oval Doily Placemat crochet pattern to share with you. It is made in only 13 rounds using mercerised cotton yarn and a 3 mm crochet hook. 
    All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

    37 cm x 29 cm (14.6 inches x 11.4 inches).

    • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Alize Bahar mercerised 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 38 (coral). 55 grams (143 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
    • 3mm crochet hook.
    • Scissors.
    • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


    Abbreviations (US terms):

    st./sts - stitch / stitches

    ch - chain
    sl st. - slip stitch
    sc - single crochet
    dc - double crochet
    trc - treble crochet

    ch3picot - ch3, insert your hook into first ch made (into 3rd ch from hook), yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

    Foundation: ch22

    Round 1: 5dc into the 4th ch from hook,



    1dc into next 17 ch sts,

    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch at the beginning of the round. (46 sts)


    Round 2: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 2dc into same st., 2dc into next 5 sts,
    1dc into next 17 sts,
    2dc into next 6 sts,
    1dc into next 17 sts.
    Join with a sl st. into first dc. (58 sts)


    Round 3: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next st., 
    (1dc into next st., 2dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times,
    1dc into next 17 sts,
    (1dc into next st., 2dc into next st.)* repeat 6 times,
    1dc into next 17 sts.
    Join with a sl st. into first dc. (70 sts)

    Round 4: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next st., 2dc into next st.,
    (1dc into next 2 sts, 2dc into next st.)* repeat 5 times,
    1dc into next 17 sts,

    1dc into next 22 sts, 2dc into next st.,

    Join with a sl st. into first dc. (128 sts)

    Round 8: ch5 (counts as 1dc + ch2), 
    (skip next st., 1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 63 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch5.

    Round 9: ch2 (doesn't count as a st.), 1dc into same st., 1dc into next ch2 space,
    (1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 2 times,
    (1dc into next st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 20 times,
    (1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 12 times,

    Join with a sl st. into first dc. (168 sts)

    Round 10: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1),

    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

    Round 11: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), 1dc into same ch1 space,
    ((1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space)* repeat 83 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.


    Round 12: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch5 (counts as 1trc + ch1), (1trc, ch1)* repeat 5 times into same ch1 space, skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch1,
    (skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, (1trc, ch1)* repeat 6 times into next ch1 space, skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 20 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 4th ch of beginning ch5.

    Round 13: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), ch3picot, ch1, (skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st., ch1, ch3picot, ch1)* repeat 4 times, skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st.,
    (skip next ch1, skip next sc st., skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st., (ch1, ch3picot, ch1, skip next ch1, 1dc into next trc st.)* repeat 5 times)* repeat 20 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch4.

    Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

    Written Pattern

    Size: The table runner measures approx. (without fringe) 30cm x 82cm (11.8in x 32.3in).
    You can adjust the length of the table runner by adding or subtracting rows.
    You can adjust the width of the table runner by adding or subtracting chain stitches in a multiple of 4 + 1.

    Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate


    Materials Used:

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine I used Nako Fiore 25% linen, 35% cotton, 40% bamboo viscose yarn. 130 grams (390 meters approx) of yarn needed for this pattern.

  • 8mm (US size L11) crochet hook for adding the fringe.

    Row 2 (wrong side): ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc into first dc st., 1sc into next ch1 space, 1sc into each dc st., 2sc into each ch2 space. 1sc into beginning ch5 space of Row 1, 1sc into 4th ch of that same beginning ch5.

    Row 80: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc into first dc st., 2sc into next dc st., 1sc into each sc st. until you have 2 sc sts left. 2sc into next sc st., last sc goes into 3rd ch of turning ch3. (62 sts)

    Row 81: ch3 (counts as a dc), turn, skip first sc st., 1dc into next sc st., 
    (ch2, skip 2 sc sts, 1dc into next 2 sc sts)* repeat 15 times.

    Row 82: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc into each dc st., 2sc into each ch2 space. Last sc goes into 3rd ch of turning ch3. (62 sts)

    Row 85: ch3 (counts as a dc), turn, skip first sc st., 1dc into next sc st., 
    (ch2, skip next 2 sc sts, 1dc into next 2 sc sts)* repeat 15 times.

    Row 86: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), turn, 1sc into each dc st., 2sc into each ch2 space. Last sc goes into 3rd ch of turning ch3. (62 sts)

    Row 87: ch4 (counts as 1dc + ch1), turn, skip 2 sc sts, 1dc into next 2 sc sts,
    (ch2, skip next 2 sc sts, 1dc into next 2 sc sts)* repeat 14 times until you have 2 sc sts left. Ch1, skip next sc st., 1dc into last sc st.

    Row 88 - 99: repeat Rows 84 - 87

    Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.


    Add The Fringe:
    • I added fringe to each of ch1 and ch2 spaces.
    • Cut 32 pieces of yarn about 70 cm (27.5 inches) long.
    • Grab one piece of yarn, fold it in half 2 times. Now you have a group of 4 yarn strands. Fold it in half one more time.
    • Place the table runner with the right side facing up. Grab the yarn pieces where they are folded with a crochet hook and pull through the chain space from right to wrong side. Pull the ends through folded section and cinch tight.
    • Continue adding the fringe to each chain space along the end of the table runner.
    • Add the fringe on the opposite end of the table runner.
    • Trim the fringe.
